Itโ€™s the beginning of your fitness journey and stepping into new territory can be terrifying๐Ÿ™ˆ
The gym is a whole new environment with different people from all walks of life.
But when you walk in you feel like you just want to stay in the corner and use one machine๐Ÿ˜ฌand the feeling of sticking out is more uncomfortable especially if you donโ€™t know what to do๐Ÿ˜ถ
.
So what can you do to ease into the process and build your confidence:
.
1. CONGRATULATE YOURSELF!
Actually joining and going to the gym is an achievement on its own๐Ÿฅณ

2. FUNCTIONAL CLOTHING
Wear what you are comfortable in. If thatโ€™s a baggy T-shirt and tracksuit pants, wear it! If itโ€™s a sports bra and shorts, wear it! The last thing you want is to be tugging at your clothes because you donโ€™t feel comfortable.

3. ORIENTATION
Make sure when you sign up, you do an orientation by the gym which will help you find things easier when you go for your workout.

4. TRAINING BUDDY
Try and bring a training buddy or partner to alleviate a bit of the first time stress. Always helps to train with someone who can also push you.

5. MAKE A FRIEND
Find someone in the gym that you can see is also on a similar journey as you, this way you can learn together๐Ÿค—

6. PACE YOURSELF
Its not a race to the end! Take your time to learn each section and each machine, rather than the whole gym at once.

7. ASK FOR HELP! 
This was my biggest aid. If you feel you have no clue what a machine does or how it works, ask someone. Donโ€™t try unknowingly and hurt yourself๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ 8. PLAN YOUR WORKOUT
If you are not familiar with what equipment your gym offers, do some research, follow some people online for workouts๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ and come to the gym prepared on what you are going to do.

9. IGNORE THE EYES
Feeling self-conscious will come when you are new, but learn to ignore the eyes and focus on your workout. They will eventually stop looking and do the same.

10. WALK WITH PRIDE
You have arrived! You are in the gym, you are working out, you are one step closer to your goals! Keep that in mind every time you walk in ready to smash your workout๐Ÿ˜Ž
