🌱Anxiety 
It's one of the emotions that is very tough to deal with, mainly because if you become afraid of how you feel *normal* then it becomes something you try to avoid, block, run from & that, makes you feel worse.
.
🌱*Its normal that when you first experience high anxiety, panic attacks, or sometimes even suspect that you're anxious, that you will start to worry. & that's because.
.
1. Many of the symptoms feel like there IS something else badly wrong.
2. When we experience panic, this alone is very scary so fear & anxiety go hand in hand.
3. In stress response the brain naturally scans for danger, so if you feel & feel the fear it's normal.
4. If you have no knowledge, this can lead to assuming the worst. =more anxiety
5. We are talking about mental health so much, when you do feel down, now we are focused inward thinking 'is there something wrong with me have I got it?'.

🌱As much as emotions are tough to deal with they are tougher if you question their existence & become afraid of them.
.
🌱When we do this we block, avoid the real emotion that actually should be experienced & allowed to flow through you in its own way.
.
🌱Emotion doesn't go if you swallow, block or avoid, they stay with you, build up, come out in other ways. In behaviour, I'm health. Sometimes with anxiety.
.
🌱It can feel incredibly uncomfortable to feel an emotion but it's not hear to hurt you, you have reason to feel the way you feel, of you allow yourself to feel it, it will pass, you will feel better, it may take time but it will pass.
.
🌱No feelings, no emotions, what would that mean?
If you're never been heart broken you never LOVED
If you're you're never sad, you won't APPRECIATE GLADNESS.
If you're never anxious, you're survival mechanism isn't serving you well.
If you're never anything, you're feeling numb.

HOW?
HOW is it that you are asking yourself to stop thinking about it, you don't want to be thinking about it BUT it's now the only thing you're thinking about.
*any thought you are not comfortable with.

AMYGDALA
The part of the brain that senses danger, starts the fight flight freeze response, anxiety. This comes on because it's sensed a danger perceived or real, it sends a message to your adrenal glands for stress hormones, you feel edgy, the adrenalin is on. Your amygdala also needs to continue scanning for danger. To judge if the danger is over.
.
'Are we safe yet? not sure so I will keep focused for negative/danger.'
.
This is a natural human response that has helped to keep the humam race alive all this time. We need it, it's doing a good job. If we are overly stressed with worries, & our bodies are not getting what it needs this can be a cause for anxiety, rightly so, we won't be doing well if we are compromising the mind & body. This is a danger to your health & wellbeing.
.
So most of us are operating at a level of stress & not really eating well for ourselves. We can help that by reducing stress, eating a balanced diet.
.
THE THOUGHTS!
When you ask yourself to stop thinking of something. It's a signal to the brain that reads a bit like this.

🤔: Stop thinking that!

AMYGDALA: What thought where? this must be dangerous it's not nice, I sense this isn't good, keep scanning for danger we might not be ok here.'
.
😣:I can't stop thinking about this, now I'm feeling worried, maybe even scared, why can't I stop?

AMYGDALA:I sense fear, this isn't good, keep scanning!. Don't stand down yet!.
.
SO WHAT CAN YOU DO?
.
🤔: I've noticed I'm thinking something that I don't like, I acknowledge it's there & let it pass, I'll distract my thoughts with, a nice memory, music I enjoy, a funny sketch, an activity I enjoy.etc
.
AMYGDALA :nothing to see here we're calm, I sense no fear, gently stand down.
.
🙄: Distracted, thought comes, goes. Then I forget.

Things I can and can't control.... I know from experience that spending my energy on the things I can't control leaves me feeling depleated, my muscles tense, my breathing shallow. I feel defeated. 
Letting go of this stuff is HARD. I get it. But it is also freeing. And so very calming to the body and soul.
