Can you believe that we risked to never see such a showstopping talent and wonderful person like Charles race if it weren’t for Jules Bianchi’s family and @nicolastodt ?🙏🏻
Think of that while reading this piece of the exclusive interview to Charles' manager from latest issue of @autosprintofficial (I translated it)
I am so grateful that they believed in him and helped him… No one deserved it like Charles and he made everything not to make them regret their good faith in him!
- Nicolas Todt, after the Italian Grand Prix, there’s literally to be enthusiast with and about Charles, isn’t it?
«Absolutely, I’m happy, very happy. It’s incredible to win like this, in front of a flood of people. And also how he won matters a lot: not only did Charles triumph, but he did it with style, with class. Managing to beat not just one but both Mercedes drivers and all this in spite of a tremendous, constant pressure, lasted through all the race.»
- Are there any characteristics of Charles that emerged above all, during this vibrant Italian Grand Prix?
«Seeing the development of the race and Charles’ behaviour, I’d say coolness and mental strength.»
«Charles in Monza was the first time that a driver won such an important race having worked with me for so long. Because Charles and I have been collaborating, one to the benefit of the other, for a very long time now.»
- Shall we say how everything started?
«Let’s go back to 2011, when Charles wasn’t even 14 and raced with karts, with honor but without great economic means. He was signaled to me by the Bianchi family and that was already a good thing, given our optimal relationship and the fact that Jules was my client, as well as a very good driver. In short, at that time Charles was a very promising young guy, on track, but he struggled to continue, he needed a concrete support, otherwise everything was going to stop, forever. So I had this meeting with him and his father Hervé, and from this I got an excellent impression.»
- You seem to give much importance to the feeling, the approach, the meeting between people, even before the pure agonistic aspect.
«Personal and human component is a fundamental one. Always.» ...
Binotto: "Coming from back to back victories is a good feeling for the team and for our tifosi, but in reality these victories are already behind us and we are well aware that Singapore will present new challenges and a layout in which our car is not as strong as at other circuits.
We are bringing a few new parts there as part of our effort to close the gap to the competition, at a track that features predominantly slow speed corners. This race also sees the return of the Hypersoft tyre compound, which has not been used since the Canadian GP.
All of this, together with the traditionally eventful close racing in between the barriers, on the city streets – conditions that both Sebastian and Charles love very much – will certainly make for a tough but exciting race weekend."
