At the root of entitlement is emotional neglect in childhood.

When we don’t get the emotional mirroring we need as children, our ego goes into over drive in an attempt to heal. Our entire focus becomes “us” and what we “need.” Entitlement is a wounded state where we cannot look outside of ourselves because we are obsessively preoccupied with having our needs met.

Entitlement with time looks like:
“I know you’re so busy, but I just need 20 minutes of your time”
“I’m sure you can fit me into your busy schedule”
“I need you to come early and set up for the party”

Entitlement with resources looks like:
“I understand money is tight, but $30 isn’t so much to ask for”
“I know you said you need your car this week but I have no other way to get to my appointment, so I need it”
“We can’t afford a hotel, so we will just stay at your place.” Entitlement with emotional energy looks like:
“I feel bad for what I put you through in the past, I need to talk to you and make it right”
“I just need to vent to you”
“I know you just lost your mom, but I have no one else get advice from, help!” How to practice out of entitlement:
1. View everything as an energy exchange: If you seek something from someone, offer equal energy back
2. Journal/meditate on the reality that no one owes you anything. Ever. If this story comes up in your mind meet it with compassion. Understand this is your wounded inner child.
3. Show gratitude: sincerely thank anyone who takes time and energy to help you in any way. Acknowledge that you see they’ve done this and tell them you are available should they need your help.
4. Be clear with your boundaries
5. Give WITHOUT expectation: do it because you can and because giving feels really, really good— not because you want to receive something in return
6. Resist “calling people out” for being entitled. Few people understand energy exchange and aren’t even aware of the behavior. The work is to observe entitlement within yourself and work to move past it #selfhealers.

Just a reminder that it's okay to be vulnerable. Admitting that you want/need help or guidance isn't easy. Even just telling someone how you're really doing can be tough. But believe me it's worth it. Reaching out and getting help in anyway not only benefits you but allows others to understand a little more of where you are coming from. Let's keep having those conversations and checking in with people around us. Take care xx

"Many people like meditation. Many people think of it as single-pointed concentration. In my opinion, meditation is to cultivate a habit of an honest mindset and a kind heart. If we develop and increase our qualities of kindness and honesty, we can get rid of so many different kinds of suffering. Otherwise, if we think we want to meditate, and we just sit still and we don’t think about anything in particular, then what we are doing is actually resting our mind, giving our minds a little break. But it is not very constructive or useful. It does not decrease our negative mindsets of anger, attachments, etc. It does not increase our qualities of kindness, truthfulness and wisdom. So, we might be able to sit still single-pointedly for four or five hours, but what’s the point? It’s like a pigeon!" ~ Khandro Namsel Drolma, Dalai Lama's state oracle and spiritual teacher From the interview by Natalie Pace More about Khandro-la (link in bio). #khandrola #khandronamseldrolma #wisdomdakinis #femaleteachers #meditation #kindheart #honesty #lovingkindness #bodhicitta #wisdom #compassion #loveothers #theyoginiproject ...

It's time for change. Start by removing those ideals of having the perfect value or numbers in your own life and notice the shift in your mindset. It is then that you can encourage others to do the same. Let's start looking at people and ourselves in terms of the gifts they bring to the world. That is what real worth is all about. You are so important and no number can ever take that away fron you!.

More than 30% of the food you eat relies on pollinators, and mostly, the honeybee. "Losing them could affect not only dietary staples such as apples, broccoli, strawberries, nuts, asparagus, blueberries and cucumbers, but may threaten the beef and dairy industries if alfalfa is not available for feed. One Cornell University study estimated that honeybees annually pollinate $14 billion worth of seeds and crops in the U.S." mnn.com . "An unprecedented study integrating data from around the globe has shown that honey bees are the world's most important single species of pollinator in natural ecosystems and a key contributor to natural ecosystem functions. The first quantitative analysis of its kind, led by biologists at the University of California San Diego, is published Jan. 10 in Proceedings of the Royal Society B." phys.org . Then there is the holistic healthcare benefits provided to us through conscious and compassionate beekeeping. Raw honey is antibacterial, loaded with antioxidants, historically used for wound healing, and so much more. . Pollen can be used to address local seasonal allergies and is a completely perfect food with only 1 tbsp providing 1.2 grams of protein, 2 grams of carbs and more than 200 nutritional components like flavonoids, vitamins, and phytochemicals. . And then there is manuka honey which is transformative when use therapeutically. . What can you do? Never kill another bee in your life! Stop swatting at them. . Grow bee-friendly gardens like bee balm, cosmos, echinacea, snapdragons foxglove, and hosta in the summer. In fall, zinnias, sedum, asters, witch hazel and goldenrod. It sometimes feels too much. It seems unfair my emotional life can go off the charts, that I need so much extra care to stay grounded, that I am so sensitive to everything.

But the more I allow myself to feel, the more I see the intelligence encoded in the rise and fall of feeling. We aren't broken or defective. We are finely attuned instruments here to guide the collective to healing.

We feel so strongly because the others need us to transmit the deep remembering of a time when we all had access to the knowledge of all things. They have lost their way, and in the losing they forgot how valuable our gifts are.

In the losing we forgot too.
Reclaim your power. Feeling is strength. Feeling deeply is intelligence. Drop the judgement and let the wisdom seep through.
We feel so much because we are feeling for all those who can't.
