A friendly reminder that “doing your best” does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown..
so don’t forget to take care of yourself by taking a break if needed.. that will probably help you and your loved ones around you too.. ✌🏻

Hello everyone, Thu from @madebytherat here. Today, I'll be sharing my take on the letter U and talking about my art journey so far!
About the prompt: I love botanical line drawing and hand lettering. So I always thought it was a great idea to incorporate botanical drawings to my hand lettering and came up with my own style. I've been hand lettering each letter with various botanical shapes with black ink, white ink and colors on different types of papers. While drawing letter U, I thought why not experiencing the letter U more than what I usually do; Letter U with white ink on black paper, Letter U with black ink on line paper, Letter U with gradient colors on watercolor paper, Letter U with colors on Kraft paper and Letter U with white ink on Kraft paper. I love them all; and there are still many other ways that I wish I could share in one post with you.
My art journey and supplies I use: Im a graphic designer and I use Adobe photoshop and Illustrator most of the time; and there was a time when I totally forgot how to use a pencil and a notebook. I've decided to go back to use pencils and sketchbook more often since last year and the art community on IG has inspired and motivated me to continue with my passion, hand lettering. I hope to improve my hand lettering and become a hand lettering artist in the future. I use Pilot pens and Sakura pens most of the time on Lemome and Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks.
A helpful art tip: keep practicing, be patient and keep learning from books and tutorials to come up with your own style. Don't be afraid to try new techniques, to use new art materials and don't be afraid to leave small blemishes in your art piece :) Thank you Aaria for the opportunity to share my artwork with the community. ....

Hi! @sarahstyledesigns here! Today, I'll be sharing my take on the letter S (swipe to see!) and talking about my art journey so far!

About the prompt : Believe it or not, S is my least favorite letter to write!! Even though my first and last name start with it!! I have struggled to find a good way that I like to write the letter S. The style I use is my 3D lettering style. This is my unique style that I love to use and frequently change up the colors. I use a Gold Paint Pen for the base and let it dry. I then add shadows by blending different colors to give it the 3D look.

About your art journey: I started lettering when I became a stay at home mom with my kiddos. I wanted to learn something new and art became my thing. I love learning, I guess you could say I’m somewhat of a nerd. I like taking courses and pushing myself to go out of my comfort zone.

Your favourite art supplies: my favorite art supplies are my Karin Markers, Distress Oxide Inks, Gold Paint Pen, handmade Watercolors, and Daniel Smith Watercolors

Fun Fact: I am an athlete at heart, that’s being in my true element. My husband and I met playing slow pitch softball together!
A helpful art tip!: My biggest tip is to learn from others, take courses, read books, but ALWAYS create your own style. That’s what makes you unique!
