Bella is little bit under the weather. She’s on antibiotics and hopefully they will do their job. She’s eating and moving around. We are hoping for the best. 😍😔❤️ #guineapig#petstagram#petsarefamily ...
Sometimes life here at pipcast isn't always sunshine and rainbows. We have drama here occasionally, and today I caught some nasty drama on camera. I had to intervene after about 20 seconds of this because it was clear Pepe wasn't going to back down on her own. Thankfully no one was hurt and no blood was drawn.
I'm sharing this video to educate fellow GP owners about conflict like this. While drama is rare among herds, it does happen. And when it does, your GPs need space to run away! That's why a big cage is so important. Imagine if I had a tiny little cage with this same situation. Baby could have been seriously hurt with no place to run.
How do you prevent conflict like this? Get a big cage, bond your GPs properly, minimize exposure to external stressors (think dogs or loud noises, for example), etc. But even if you do all of these things, fights may still happen. Females can get agitated when they come into heat, which is probably why Pepe is being such a bully today. Usually they work themselves out, but if it becomes a persistent problem you may need to separate your piggies.
By the way, excuse my dirty cage. I sweep 2x a day, but having 5 pigs means things are always poopy around here. I like to keep it real with you guys 😎

Sarai just gave birth to two beautiful perfect babies!
The one on the left is a little lethal white girl named Amaya. She has two top teeth that are already overgrown, she is blind and deaf, and she has a slight head tilt. She's already amazing though and I am so in love.
The one on the right is a little boy who isn't a lethal. I think he is going to be a pink eyed white who is technically roan, but sometimes it's hard to see pigment so early on. His name is Ezran and he is super cute.
Amaya is way less coordinated than Ezran, but she is also a little bigger. Ezran is slightly smaller and sleepier but his movements are more coordinated. As I write this Amaya has burrowed under her mom and stuck her nose out at me. Proving that like most lethal whites she's going to be a total goober.

Meet Sarai! Sarai is one of the girls Mendel got pregnant before they came to the rescue and she is due any moment now. Half of her babies will probably be lethal whites, but I did hear some teeth grinding in her uterus this afternoon so I know at least someone in there has teeth!
I expect her to give birth tonight or tomorrow because her pelvic bones have been separating since Monday. No matter what issues her babies have they will have a home here at The Pipsqueakery and since Sarai licked my entire face including up my nose right after this video I'll probably have to keep her too. I mean how could I not?
