Powerlifting is a sport that many of us love. We put our money and time into it. Many hours in the gym putting our bodies through stress. Training sessions that can ruin our lives. We do all of this so we can compete. So we can get white lights on 9 attempts and hopefully come out with a bigger Total than our last competition. Thats why when meet day comes around we have many mixed emotions. ANGER RAGE ANXIETY STRESS JOY EXCITEMENT ETC. We channel a part of us that is only seen on meet day. No matter how crazy you get for a top set during prep nothing compares to the chaos that can occur within you on meet day. It’s something special. Only those who compete can truly call themselves powerlifters. Once you step on the platform the bills the stress the struggle and everything else goes away. For that minute that you are on the platform you are unbeatable you are your own hero. Nothing else matters. •• Thats why i enjoy watching people compete especially friends. Watching them comeback from injuries watching them give it their all makes me even more hungry to be stronger. ••

I felt strong, fast, and didn’t need to slow down at any point and it’s the closest I’ve felt to my old gym self in a long time 💪🏻 And yes, 9am friends, my soul did leave my body halfway through the power cleans 😅👻☠️ ...
