Aaah! Italian horror movies from the 70s and 80s!
Bizarre and stylish fever dreams lacking any common logic and consistency✨
One wonders how a movie set of the era might look like, what a magnificent mixture of LSD and cocaine must have been!
And of course pizza🍕
LSD, cocaine and LOTS of pizza!
A dream for sure😍
Sometimes I feel the need to go back to my Italian roots too (no, always eating pizza doesn’t count) so byeee American slashers and hiii Italian sleaziness 🇮🇹🔪🇮🇹🔪🇮🇹🔪🇮🇹🔪🇮🇹🔪 And so, for the first time in my life I watched "All the colors of the dark" and I was blown away! I loved the hell out of it actually! Excessive, borderline absurd, a real kaleidoscope of hallucinated images🌀🌀🌀 Highly recommended!
As for "Bay of Blood" well...
It wasn’t the first time I’ve seen this flick and, during the first not-so-perfect watch I ended up not particularly loving it.
So I tried again and nothing, nada, niet, niente🚫
I really don't understand the appeal and all the love it receives.
Yes, of course the deaths are tasty and the bodycount rather high but during the watch I did nothing but zoning out(a new term I LOVE taught me by @thegiftofstones ), thinking about what to buy at the supermarket, what I have to study to be an astronaut and how many were the seven dwarfs🤷🏼♂️ Meh, definitely not my cup of tea.
Forgive me Gods of horror but I don't think I will revisit it any time soon🤫
If we want to stay in the fever dreams field, "All the colors of the dark" was a brief and elaborate nightmare lasting 20 minutes while "Bay of Blood" on the other hand was like one of those short rests that turn into heavy sleep, with a duration of 36273 hours, from which you wake up with a terrible headache and puffy eyes.
Or at least that’s what I felt watching these two flicks😉
Anyway these are just my opinions, what do you think?
Have you ever seen these movies?
And if so, how do you consider them?
Let me know!
