On this day in 2015, we moved to Iceland.
The first thing we did was go to the Of Monsters and Men concert at Harpa that we bought tickets for months before we knew we would be cleared to move.
The second thing we did was hike Glymur (one of the stops that we didn’t have time to do on our honeymoon).
The third thing we did was travel to the Westman Islands for a day of hiking as we celebrated our anniversary.
There were so many unknown things about selling everything we owned and moving abroad that scared the shit out of me, and made me doubt our life changing move. But I’m so glad we trusted our gut and took the leap. Now, I can’t imagine our life without Iceland in it.
It’s safe to say we haven’t lost our adventurous spirits, and safer to say that our love for Iceland is stronger than ever.
So grateful to call this place home - takk Ísland, elskan mín. 💚🇮🇸
Hallgrímskirkja church is Reykjavík's main landmark and its tower can be seen from almost everywhere in the city.
It was designed by the late Guðjón Samúelsson in 1937, who was often inspired by the forms created when lava cools into basalt rock. The church very closely resembles many of the beautiful basalt columns we saw throughout Iceland. By @whereivebeenwandering#everydayiceland ...
