What if I told you ALL food groups are necessary for your health?! Yes, you heard me! CARBS, PROTEIN, FAT. You need them ALL! .
I don’t talk about diet very often. But it is so important! These foods are our macronutrients and we need them for our body to run properly.  You wouldn’t deny your car oil. So why would you deny your body an essential fuel?! .
Don’t be afraid to eat! Where we often run into trouble is when we eat one of these groups in excess. My tip for you:
.
Eat a healthy balance of ALL macros but watch portion sizes! .
I like to follow portion recommendations based on the STAX philosophy: .
Fat - the size of your thumb (I tend to include the meaty part of it too because... cheese! 😉)
.
Protein - the size of your palm!
.
Carbohydrates- the size of your fist (if you’re worried about carbs, consider eating fruit or whole grains as your carb source!)
.
Veggies - up to TWO fists! (Make sure you include lots of green leafy veggies, but a variety of color is important too. Our vitamins are often found in these foods!)
