Photography by @traunfoto “This photo was taken on an early fall day at Lake McDonald Glacier National Park in Canada. It was mid morning and the water was eerily still, which is unusual as it is known for its windy conditions. I used my Canon 5D mk3 and wide angle lens to get this shot, as well as a tripod which positioned my camera only inches off the water. To top it off, a giant cloud hovered over Stanton Peak and created a great reflection over the water.” #lake#reflection#sky#mountain#canada ...
Every day we wake up and began the hustle and bustle towards our profession. We work towards building a company of our own, work for ungodly hours to complete a target or trying to get that promotion.
Our obsession with materialistic things leads to an unsatisfying and incomplete life. Every day we set a new goal and every day we work towards it. Some might say that's professionalism. This is how you grow in terms of your work. But life isn't all about achieving those goals. Work is a part of life, not your entire life.
Whenever I see a monk I feel so serene and peaceful. They radiate this selfless and calming vibe that nobody can escape. Monks periodically repeat what they do in a day. Meditation, Praying, Learning from scriptures, learning to strip away all the greed from your past life and live a life of simplicity.
I work every day and believe me when I say I crave having a schedule where I go to work at a specific hour and come back home at a specific time. My schedule is all over the place, so much so I haven't even watched a 5 minutes video for my entertainment. One thing I'm trying to get a hand on is meditation.
I was advised to meditate often. But I don't think I can my mind is constantly thinking about new ideas to grow and develop. It just can't stop. But you have to realize meditation doesn't mean you can shut off your brain on command and be in zen instantly. It takes the time you have to learn. Whenever your mind is wandering around you have to get it back in the track. Do it over and over until you are in zen. Everything in life comes from learning. Sometimes you have to learn to get away from your life to attain that momentary peace.
