The recap.

This year was a mixed bag of emotions. On the one hand I had success and on the other I could only reach for something I could not yet grasp. Yet, I find as much as I appreciate the work and execution of my successes, the few disappointments cling to my mind and drive me towards the future... what does this mean. Nothing. And everything.

My dad taught me from a young age when I do anything I do it with the best and at my best, so when I succeed I am only where I was meant to be, but when I fail, I've let down my potential. I need to work harder. I must be better. I attack the next day.

Right now, I've set a foundation. It's strong, it has told me where I am and has given me an idea of where I will soon be, but... There is work to be done. What I can say is simple. With my best preparations I did not achieve my best results this year. Yet with my worst blocks I surprised myself. Life works that way sometimes. So despite a bad ending to the year I did things that haven't been done in a long time and for that I'm proud.

My highlights of the year, breaking into the top 10 Americans all time in 20km. Becoming the 7th American under 20 minutes in the 5000m. And finally improving upon my 3km and 10km consistency and speed. Continued dominance at various USA Nationals.

Area of work. Execution of the 50km. Ive attacked my last three and paid the price. Work needs to be done. But I'm on the precipice of a breakthrough. Finding out half of the American walkers have blocked me. Perhaps that means I'm doing something right.

Finally. Huge thank you to my family and friends. Thanks to all the training groups that allowed me to tag along and learn. Thank you to my sponsors in @newfeel_official and @decathlonusa Without all of you, I would not be in the position to reflect and improve that I am in. Tokyo is fast approaching, but with all of your help I know I will be on the starting line.
