I first started this account with the intention of showing my friends and family what it is that I do all day in my “laboratory”...I also hoped that along the way I might inspire one or two younger girls to pursue their dream path - to show them that not all scientists and engineers have to look a certain way, or have specific lifestyles. Although Instagram has taught our generation to place value on a number of “likes” or “followers”, this journey has taught me to shatter that image because of the amount of messages I have received about career advice, and the gratitude and impact they have told me a few messages have made on their choices or confidence. 👏🏻 There is an incredible community of #STEM advocates all of the world that I have interacted with and they motivate me on a daily basis - whether its knowing that I am not alone through my #phdjourney (which has been extremely rewarding overall with a sprinkle of emotional meltdowns 🤣😩), or simply having a feeling of belonging, I believe Instagram as a platform is serving an incredible purpose. My advice to all younger girls out there is always the same, “where there is a will, there is a way”, no matter where you come from, what you look like, your gender, or your upbringing. If I make a difference in one person’s life, or if I read something from a fellow #stemcomm on their profile that gets me through my day, it’s all worth it to me in the end. Pursue your goals and be yourself - always. Happy Friday !! ⭐️💯🔝 #thefutureisnow#thisiswhatascientistlookslike#drdevphd 📸: @emredikici 2 ...

THW Etiquette Rule No.2 - Always hold your wine glass by the stem.
There is definitely a right and wrong way to hold your wine glass!
So note to self that wine glasses should be held by the stem, so that way the hand does not raise the temperature of the wine.
Always remember the stem is there for a reason!
Lots of love, @the_house_white (With help from @gooseneckvineyards ) ...
